Cheap L radiator

Post by Busdriver » Thu Jan 31, 2008 7:54 pm

So I finally bit the bullet and took my radiator in to get it cleaned out.Even though they looked at it in the car and said yeah, no worries, she'll be ok, they rang me at lunch and said sorry but its too badly corroded to do but we happen to have a new core here for it that we can fit and you can have it for 400 bucks. I thought that was a bit steep so I said dont bother and I will pick it up after work. I then rang around and found a local wrecker who does a lot of Suby stuff and he said that because reasonable second hand ones were getting scarce he had started selling new ones for 220 bucks.
i picked one up, fitted it and Bingo! she doesnt get over half way now. Does pay to shop around after all!:-D

Nice work indeed. I've paid almost $200 for a second-hander.
