Libs licensed

Post by vidler » Mon Feb 04, 2008 6:57 pm

just thought i'd let all you WA members know she went over the pits again today, got the permit for the lift kit, all licensed and ready to roll, got the muddies back on so its looking mean again:)

anyone know where i can get the inside corner of tread cut off the front tyres so they don't grind on the body? Turning circle is severely limited by this.

So i'll be out 4wd next trip to see what she's capable of, shouldn't come across any lancers off road:)

Do a few "Helli's" at full lock, that should cut the tyres down! :)
Jokes aside....perhaps a modest wheel spacer on the front might solve the problem, I wouldn't be to keen on modifying the tyres to fit the car....

its got 5 or 6mm spacers in now, so i'd have go up to a minimum of 12mm, which would involve needing longer studs.

Wheel spacers tend to push your tyre outwards... which on full lock would make the problem worse.

how so. its his insides of his tyres isnt it.

which with spacers wuld decrease the amount it hits. as i presume its rubbing against the edge of the engine bay.

i like posting lots of useless crap in every thread on this board. its fun

on a useful note - vidler the best you can do is take the edge off the lift kit block and control arm mount with a grinder (brett usually does this or uses round blocks - might already be done)

apart from that you are running monster truck size tyres on a lib... so theres always gonna be rubbing somewhere.

Cheers, I'll get under there on hard lock and see if rounding the block will do the trick, it's square at the moment.

it really wont give you any more lock, but it will prevent the sharp edges of the block and bracket damaging your tyres.

the chassis rails are nice and smooth so they wont damage the tyres
