FINALLY !!
I put my spare L series tacho to good use today.
I hooked up a cig lighter power cable to the contacts at the back of the tacho and the tach wire to the yellow coil wire of me Brumby EA81 Lseries 5 speed, 3.7 diff with 195/50-15's
Happy to say that it sits on 3000 at 100true km/h - that's is 20% better than top in the turbo 3 speed GLTA which is 3000 at 80 !
I can do roundabouts in fourth at 1000rpm and still pull away (slowly) without shudder - that's LPG for you (and gettin' lazy with the auto above and crunchy > to 3rd!!)

Justin, what's the actual difference between gps and speedo using 4.111 ratios in a Liberty box plus Nankangs? I'm going to be getting the Brumby converted to EJ22 / AWD / 4.111 / Nankangs soon and am curious as to how accurate the speedo will be with this combo.Xtreme_RX wrote:EA82T Powered 'L' series Wagon with Custom 4.111 AWD Gearbox with 3.9 Liberty internals on 27" Nankangs -> 3100Rpm @ 100kms on GPS.
Also, do you have any rear diff hanger nolathane bushes (Brumby) for sale? My OEM ones are buggered.

My 99 Outback sits at around 2600rpm in 5th gear at 100km/h. I'm not 100% sure of the exact figure - I forget, but it ought to be around there. The gearbox is from a later model Forrester, though. It's supposed to be the same as the original outback gearbox.
I was scratching my head recently about my fuel consumption, thinking that perhaps the gear ratios were slightly different so I was using more fuel at the same speed and all that. Then I realised it's been hovering around 40 degrees here lately and the aircon has been blasting away full time!

Living in Canada now. Looking at all these SVXs for sale...

2nd Gen Liberty, 3.7 diff, 2550 RPM at 100kmh 205/70 15" fuel consumption increased since new larger tyres fitted. (been getting 600kms before light comes on)
Old tyres same as above posting was 195/65 15" used to get around 500kms when light comes on.
Speedo is corrected by JayCar Speedo Corrector fitted by using GPS.
