What oil filter for EJ25

Post by fredsub » Fri Feb 15, 2008 9:52 am

Just seeking opinions on what Oil filter I should get, whether go to effort of getting it at Subaru or just walk in to a auto parts and some recommended brand?
The oil I got is shell helix ultra fully synthetic 5w-40 - that should be ok?
(good excuse to try out making a poll too:mrgreen:) hmm can't edit a poll once its set.........

There is so little diffrence in price for a filter, yet if a cheep filter fails the engine isnt so cheep to replace ;)

Ryco brand for Subaru is $4.40.
I'd rather pay more for better filter.

What oil does the manual say to use? Castrol Magnatec 10W40 seems to be the go.
