thats good stuff to mate.
use it at work along with the Fuchs GT Plus 20W50 i said earlier.
never had a problem with either of them.
obviously there is better stuff out there but it also costs more.
and for the record. i would bever use a cheap oil or an unknown brand (altho Fuchs may be unknown to a few as its not an 'Australian' Oil but is used widely overseas, i think the UK and mroe)
cheaper oils are just that....Cheap.
and offer less protection and qualities than other oils do.

Yeah I have to agree with that... The reason I went with Fuchs is that we use their grease - before we used Castrol and .... i forgot other brand and they did the job but doesn't last long enough what we wanted... until we came across to Fuchs and we were shocked by the results from Fuchs. Im gonna get an agent to come visit us and I will ask him how much for an 20litre drum of engine oil, I estimate would be around $95-$110

Mynance I got around to looking into microns and they work out to be 1,000,000th of a meter or 1,000th of 1 mm .
On the surface the difference between 3 microns and 6 microns may look like a lot (double) but the difference is sweet FA .
If you think 1 thou of an inch is small then remember that 1 thou works out to be 25.4 microns or approximately 1/25 of 1 thou .
At 6 microns the Ryco filter is preventing anything larger than ~ 1/4 of 1 thou of an inch passing through .
The logical assumption is that your diesels injection system had a problem that surfaced after the filter was changed or that something in a fluid state in the fuel caused the damage . NO filter is going to stop ANYTHING dissolved in the fuel being used from passing through because they are designed to trap particulate matter .
I would be most interested to see the old injection pump and the injectors themselves because examination will tell you exactly what caused the damage to them .

You maybe correct; but the vehicle had only 60,000 klm on it and was one the only one of 3 that we had not converted to Lucas CAV filters.discopotato03 wrote:Mynance I got around to looking into microns and they work out to be 1,000,000th of a meter or 1,000th of 1 mm .

They were using the same fuel, the 2 vehicles using CAV stopped running when the filters clogged and needed a filter change $10. The Ryco one didn't stop till the muck reached the pump, so I assume this is what did the damage.

Well I'd say your problem is a fuel quality one , we run locomotive diesels all year round on automotive grade fuel and they never have that problem . Granted their filters are larger but a tank of fuel is 12500L and maint cycles ~ 30 days . I don't think I've ever had one struggle or shut down because the fuel filters clogged up .
