My name is Glen, I live in Springwood Qld.

I am looking at retiring my 96 VS V6 Commodore wagon as it is a little hard on the wallet and maybe purchasing a Liberty or Outback, Our extreme budget is $16000 and see that there are a few 2001 Outbacks with lowish K's < 150k's. We have Three kids under 8 and wonder if they may be to small.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Hi there Glen (Fabes).

Welcom to the Forum, You will have no prob's with fitting all your famliy in a 2001 Outback or Liberty.

I have a 2000 RX Liberty witch is the same size, and I have three kids between 12 and 8 Yo and we all fit in yours fine, we have been on some long drives 3-4 hours away (even camping) and by then there looking to get out and stretch there legs for a while, apart from that its a grate car.

I think you will all fit in there fine and have lots of fun going lots of places that the Commodore would not even think of going.

And if you life in springwood you should think about joining the QLD Subaru Club as the Club meetings are just up the road from you along Old Cleveland Rd, Carindale, there is a lot of Libertys (outbacks) foresters and older subys.
Come along one night and you can ask all the questgens you like.

Gday all.
I am new to the forum and would just like to say hi. I am looking at purchasing a brand new outback within the next month or so. I was first going to settle on a Volkswagen Passat but I found that when we went for a test drive the brand new car was full of rattles, not to good for a $46,000 car. The Subaru outback we drove was tight and finished superbly inside and out. It is a little smaller than the Passat but I can live with that, because the car is so well made and better in all other areas. With fuel prices going up, can anyone tell me what I can expect as far as economy goes in manual form. Its just a pitty that the boxer diesel is still 2 years away, from what I have read this engine is going to be one of the best diesel engines on the market. Like any car, its the way you drive that will affect your fuel economy.

I dont own an outback (although im thinking about getting one within the next year) but i think the fuel consumption is around the 10km/L

My 97 outback recently returned 8.7l/100 and does no worse than 10l/100.

Hey there all,

I Live in Perth and I'm the owner of a 1989 Subaru Leone GL. Ive own this car since November of 2004 and have been enjoying every day of having this car. Out of all the cars ive driven this has got to be the most reliable, comfortable and most of all fun to drive. Ive took alot of respect and care in trying to keep the car in showroom condition, and i only run the car on 98RON from BP, to keep the NA EA82 engine in perfect working order.

Ive joined this forum cause its now becoming harder and harder to find parts for these older generations of Subaru's and hopefully i might find some suggestions and ideas here for various items.

Unfortunitly my car was hit in the rear back in March by some knob head, and now its come to thought that it is too expensive to repair and i was thinking about using it as a donar car cause so many parts are fine. Like the engine which has 200500km on the odo and is in perfect condition as well for many other parts. With my current Leone now not functioning due to the accident i am now looking for another Leone.

So if your in Perth or close regionally im Looking for a 1989, 1990 Subaru Leone GL, White, Manual, with AC to purchase. I take great pride and respect in keeping these cars in showroom condition so the car will go to a great home. And no it won't rust in some room, i use the car for everyday usages. So if there is anybody out there that wants to sell i am extremmly interested. So let me know, thanks.

G'day everyone, my names Mark, I'm in Perth WA.
I've got myself an '02 H6 Outback Luxury pack (leather seats, sunroofs, all the fancy stuff). Its my first subaru and I gotta say its damn nice to drive. At the moment its stock standard, but now I've got some cash the plan is to make it into a fairly capable beach runner for surfing/fishing trips (any advice to aid that would be much appreciated). So far its hardly seen anything except bitumen and I'm thinking that needs to change.

Hi my name is Chad, I'm from perth and i love subaru's

Recently aquired with a mate, a Subaru 1800 Wagon for a weekend hack car, so we dont keep messing around with our day to day cars. Plans are just to go out and have a bit of fun with her.....

I've alway wanted one of these since i was 10 (now 32), went most of the way around australia in a 1800 Dual Range Wagon and towing a coleman popup camper van, alot of fun for a kid i can tell you....

So heres some pics, where cleaning her up a bit at the moment, fixing some rust holes, raising her up with the factory adj..... and we'll see where we end up...
