Post by clarkey » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:54 pm

so im getting a 4 inch exhaust from 1 off my mates and his bro is installing it as included in price. i am only paying $150 for it installed. but some people are sayin that it will be 2 big for my lib...

so what do you think? is a 4 inch to big?? and no i wont loose any power coz of the way he is insatlling it he will be moding it to fit and not loose ny power..

4 inch? overkill.

Unless you have a 2.7 that is boosted to 35 psi and revs to 12k.

And you may not lose power, but you WILL lose torque.

I have a 470hp VK, runs quite happy through single 3 inch.

Gary ;)

curious as to what your mate had it on.

is it a catback system or just a muffler/cannon tip

Is your Liberty turbocharged Clarkey?

If not think about sticking with 2" or 2 1/4", will still give a nice boxer note without the mind numbing drone. Finishing it off with a set of the uneven length ebay headers (Borla Replicas) will give it more of a tuned boxer sound. ;)

yeah that's massive overkill.
I'm running 2 and a quarter inch on my EJ20turbo which is fine for standard boost. 3" is fine for pretty much anything - like people who build custom motors and run 1 billion kilowatts.
4" is just silly.

if its just going to be a cannon or Tip then i dont see what the problem would be.

maybe just get the Bro to fit wteva muffler or cannon was used on the skyline

oh yeah of course if it's just the size of the tip that's fine, just might look abit wanky :)

After all, I have a 5" tip on my RX-7 (3" mandrel bent system).
We call it "the baby's head exhaust tip". You can fit a CD-R in it.
