4wd light brumby dash

Post by spenboyd » Wed Jun 18, 2008 12:39 am

The 4WD light on the dash of the brumby is always on, when I got the car I remember the bloke muttering something about having to cable tie the switch every now and then. this ring a bell with anyone?

look at your 4wd lever. theres a plastic cover around it which pulls off. and comes off around the actual lever.

under that you shall find the switch.

try see if u can figure something out i guess.

The lever closes the switch when it is horizontal, it is likely the switch is slightly out of position or has a broken clip. You can pick up a replacement from a wrecked MY, it's about a 5 minute job to change it. Note that the early MY switch and late Brumby switch are the same but the wiring method changes (from solder to crimp from memory), so you may need to cut & solder the 2 wires.

Mines doing the same thing, the low range light turns off when the lever is down but the 4wd and green wheel lights stay on! Let me know how you get on! Cheers RubiSubi.
