Another new guy

Post by wingman » Thu Jun 26, 2008 11:30 pm

Just a quick hello, more to come when I've got more time.

Wingman is the handle and I have a 1994 Liberty GX auto wagon. It's actually my wife's car. This is our 2nd Subaru, the 1st being an L wagon. I'm here mainly for tech advice (please visit my thread in the troubleshooting section), but a bit of car chat with like minded souls never goes astray. Thanks for having me on board.

Cheers
Wingman

Hey there everyone, my name's Doug and I drive a Sportswagon. I'm 18, live in Perth and want to get in to offroading, I've never really done it before because I've only had my license for 6 months, but I can't wait to hear some good places to go.

Just a bit more about me and my Subaru. I'm actually a BMW man (don't hold that against me!!!). I bought the Subie for my wife as the AWD is a nice safe way to get the family around. I'm impressed with the handling and features of the Subaru but the seats are rubbish. In comparison with my car (BMW 525i), the construction of the Subaru leaves a lot to be desired but overall it's a good, reliable, safe family car and everything else in the price bracket doesn't stand up. I've left my Subie standard except for some 15" early WRX wheels that really set the car off. This is a great forum and I look forward to being a contributing member as my knowledge grows.
Cheers to all

Hey guys! My name is Erin. My little baby is a '91 FWD Liberty Sedan (my mrs drives the XT Forester). Haven't done anything special to it, maybe after I iron out a few creases engine wise we'll get stuck into some mods.
Currently running gold 14's on it, desperatly would love to find some white rims (white chasis, grey two-tone trim and gold rims don't exactly match).
Looking forward to all the hints and tip you guys have.
Cheers,
Erin :)

New here from USofA

Post by RedRoo89 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 1:32 pm

Speaking from TN here. I have an '89 GL sedan 5spd D/R that will soon be EJ22'd. I have 15" superlites (imported from Australia from someone in Georgia) and someday when it's lifted they'll be on the car. For right now I'll be rolling on some 15" recessed spoke pugs. I decided to join this site because I like the way you guys do things  How I wish I could have one of those bull guards. I'll update you guys when I get the beast running.

New ME !

Post by carlie400 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 1:47 pm

Hi Everyone,
Carlie here, I just purchased my first subaru brumby 78' model and I love him. However he is giving me dramas !!
I used to own an LC GTR Torana.. Formerly a holden fan but fast becoming a subaru fan.
I have a few questions on what I can do with the brumby to make him love me.. we have a love hate relationship at the moment and I need advice... I will find a better place to post my questions though, Im sure there's one around here somewhere.....
Will attempt now at a pic of my new brumby too..
Cheers everyone, Hope I can get some help from out there somewhere...
~Carlie

Wonder if the pic worked....

Hi guys, my name is Rori and I'm probably the newest Subaru owner here as of 10 hours ago. I haven't seen it yet, and it's about 800kms away but after a few weeks of going through everything we wanted in a 4x4 the 92 L series sportswagon sounded perfect, and one popped up for sale near my old mans work so we grabbed it.

I'm stoked to find such an active community for the Subaru, and look forward to checking out the Queensland club as we live southside Brisbane.

Hi,
I have been in this forum for a little while now but i never introduced myself..
Im Gary.. im south of Perth in Mandurah.. i have only had my 91 L series for a short while but i am already addicted to taking it bush. I go out a bit with some friends in their land cruisers and I'm looking at modding my L series with a lift , water proofing and more power to show them up.

Hey fella's, my name is marc and have never even thought about owning a subaru until recently.

Constant rising fuel costs mean that no longer can i afford to run a big diesel and driving them around town anyway is a PITA...

I was considering a sierra because i have had one before and had a fuel injected engine installed in it, was awesome but no room at all,,, plus i rolled it and the mrs wont let me get another one...LOL

So i have set my sights on an L series with the high possibilty of an engine conversion... Have tonnes of questions but this isnt the place for them..

Hope to catch up with some of ya's soon..

Another Subbie Newbie

Post by Stretch » Mon Aug 04, 2008 10:01 pm

Hi all, My name is Stretch and I'm in NSW, Newcastle area. Myfather inl-aw has given me an 1985 L-series 4X4 Hi Low range manual wagon that needs a new engine, so I am just going standard to get it on the road for now but a lift kit sounds like good thing and some 14" wheels.
I only joined last month and I've read a lot of the posts out there, so thanks one and allf or bits and pieces here and there. I will keep reading and when I need some info, I will post questions.
:)
Cheers all

Hi There, I'm a chicky in Brisbane, and I bought a Subaru Liberty Wagon 1993 GX on Monday. Auto, AWD. It's just standard, but I have to tow a trailer, and the back of my car looks sort of low?? But I looked at other ones on the internet and they look low too.. Will I have any problems towing?

Also I think my fuel tank float, or the fuel gauge is a bit funny, I've done 180km and it says I only have under half a tank left!! And sometimes it shoots right under empty, then slowly goes back up.. HELP!!! I'm worried I'll run out of fuel in the city! :-)
