Yep i sure was, just leaving Pauls workshop after fitting modified arms in and had to have one of the tyres re-seated + alarm/central locking. Was on my way then back up to my house for more stuff this weekend (stereo etc).

Passed some police on the way - they did a "double-take" that i found amusing :-D

HaHaHa... pretty funny and love to see chris's driving thro some 4WD action, I think he'll have some awesome fun! Maybe have to try the powerline track near Mundaring?

I remember the looks I got from all the guys on Gilliam Drive after having the tyre fixed... Priceless

I know what you mean there Chris :( Next time we'll have the new blocks installed and iron out (insert 1 large heavy belting tool here) the small bits

the tyres are fine and will give you good driveability with the standard gearbox.

I would also love to see some pics of the modified arms!

Update - First outing in my hatch

Post by Chrus » Wed Oct 01, 2008 7:24 pm

Update

I headed out towards Southern Cross for work for a coupla days. Thought that it was a good opportunity to "test" out my Hatch and its increased height!

I first intended to head out to Mt Holland (~150kms south of Southern Cross). the area had seen alot of rain recently (very boggy) and the shire had closed the access road!!

Image

I then visited the old mining site of Mt Palmer (~60kms South East of Southern Cross). I parked the old girl out front of the old pub, but it seems beer hasn't been on tap for quite some time....

Image

Up to Hopes Hill (10mins north of SC) where it was quite wet under foot (combo of salt lakes and recent rain made it "interesting")

Image

Lunch time - then upto Bullfinch where I tested the thick sand capabilities of the car with varying degrees of success. Lets just say the clutch is tired and I need "diffs" after today.

Image

Then as i was turning around to go home, I got careless and misjudged how close I was to a tree and it "remodeled" the front of the car. I had already clipped a EMU earlier that day and this was the last straw for the bumper - so off it came for the journey home

Image

After all this shenanigans over the last couple of days ive decided that:

a) I need "diffs"
b) I need more powah
c) I need frontal/under body protection
