Missing under load

Post by Wozzy » Sun Aug 10, 2008 9:56 pm

Got a problem with my 89 Brumby. Under load it seems to miss. Got new plugs and leads only 1000k's ago. I thought it could be coil and went to Auto One to get a newy but they say you can't get an after market one for Subaru. Sounds a bit sus? Any ideas please. Thought of buying a Bosch GT40 but don't know what damage I might do. Not really an electrical person.

I have an 84 wagon and it started dieing under load. It turned out to be a bad batch of fuel (had diesel in it), had to rebuild the carby because it blocked a jet on the 2nd throat. Seems unlikely that this is your problem though. I never had a problem with the electrics though so sorry I can't help you there.

I don't advise to buy a GT40, they are rubbish anyway.
Very likely your distributor is worn out.

Thanks for the replies.

Have new Dizzy cap and new fuel filters. Will check plugs again and leads.
