Update on my Brumby

Venom if you have kept your original manifold then you will have one from factory

in the diagram I posted from the FSM the PCV valve is right next to the throttle body

this image shows the red arrow shows the PCV valve in place,

and the green arrow shows where it was before I cut the manifold to bits

another shot of the PCV

the uncomplicated emissions system (black spaghetti) drivers side

and while I was doing this I checked the cylinder compression

cold all cylinders above 120 and no higher that 150

hot all cylinders 150 exactly

do the happy dance

That looks low enough compression to add.... A TURBO!!

hey I only just put this engine in and I want it to last longer than Frank did

a blow through turbo would be great until the bottom end went pop and I was left with no motor :0

Im hoping this motor lasts for quite a while and it should

Well driving into big mounds of sand/rock won't help it last longer than Frank

Yes it was a great action shot and goddam that photographer is highly skilled with that equipment

Frank will oneday return to his former glory and hopefully push a 89L Touring Wagon around.. One that can handle that little mound

well in this case flat out was the wrong option and Im pretty sure my cow catcher was the big problem

and good to see Frank will live again Im hoping to be there with a video camera when that happens.

Im thinking white lab coats, electrodes, lots of lightning and jars of offal and other animal parts in the back ground

on another note I checked my timing today are you sure it was on 7 degrees ?

we will have to check my timing light against yours as mine said it was on 4 degrees

I remember when you tightened the dizzy up it went fron 7deg to 9deg but I don't trust that dizzy or the way it's fitted.

the fact is I don't trust my timing light it did come from woolworths for free many a moon ago (dont ask and I wont lie)

I would say it is in actuality closer to the 9 degrees it was set at or was until I set it again today.

Well we sure did play with the timing ( I will take a picture of the dead cap at some stage) and one new distributor cap later the timing is done.

as well my 32/36 was grafted to the manifold, thanks for that Paul

No probs at all Jules.. always fun and interesting when you come up

Glad to see you took photos of me drilling your manifold and not us driving the 22B to pick up the new dizzy cap

Will be good to see how it goes (fuel economy wise) over the next couple of weeks.. as the 32 main barrel should be a little more efficient that the 34

Can't wait to get the adaptor plate made for the Fiori dizzy

That's awesome, it sort of helps to keep the look 'n' feel under the bonnet of that period, and eliminates one helluva wiring headache. Looking forward to more updates.

Is that a Brumby radiator? If so what fan is that, does it fit the existing holes, how much did it cost and where did you get it from?
