I was starting to see a common theme emerge there!

I'd love to tow stuff like that with Ruby Scoo, but sadly I must say that I just don't have the balls to do it - that's what the wife's VT with "new" heavy duty tow bar is for

Believe it or not that there Wank Rover would be worth somthing over here !
Why? - god knows but they are !

Old 4 speed 2 door may manage 10 - 12 mpg ! I once had one for 2 months tops - got shut as it nearly bankrupt me to run

Hope the poor guy who owns it has deep (gas/petrol) pockets ! or is planning a diesel or LPG conversion.

She hasn't been started in 5 years, has fuel so stale it actually smells rotten, waiting on plug leads to arrive so jimmied some Subaru ones end to end with a bit of fencing wire jumpering one to the coil, wound her over and guess what...

One sweet motor indeed. Not running on all 8 reliably yet, as the leads and fuel are sh!te and the carbies have been dry for 5 years and need seals... But not a sound can be heard inside the motor. I can't remember ever seeing a motor so smooth and quiet. Carby overhaul tomorrow, plug leads next week and some fresh fuel and she should be almost like new.

Oh, and after running, the oil is still a deep honey colour and perfectly clear, and the coolant is still so clean you could drink it, if it wasn't full of glycol. Volt gauge says alternator is charging perfectly, oil pressure gauge reports full pressure, temp is perfect (thermostat opened on cue too), even the tacho works as it should.

So far I'm pretty damned happy...

Hey Alex ,what size rubber you got stuffed under those subie guards,looks like you got some 15 inch rims,i assume you have a 6 stud conversion hey? Require much in the way of mods to stop the rubbing factor?

Nope, motor is staying in the "Strange Rover". After inspecting underneath, looks like the only thing that isn't up to scratch is the front drive shaft boot. Fixed the window winders yesterday, and locks should be working this arvo (with new billet aluminium ball joints as the plastic ones had crumbled and disconnected the key lock from the main unit). Even have a vintage Sparkright Voyager trip computer that I will mount on the dash (digital system made in England in the 70's). Going to keep it a classic, and in nice condition. My father even gave me a vintage carby matching unit last night so I can balance the twin Stromberg SU carbies and lean them out a bit...

The chrome rims had 29 inch tyres fitted to them, I'm pretty sure they're a 15 inch rim from a yota surf or something of the like. 3inch kit and EJ turbo from an RS halfcut. If you do a search on the forum you should be able to dig up the build thread

Nissan Terrano/Pathfinder but kinda the same.. they have a very good offset and yeah, Alex's thread has lots of stuff about the any changes that car went through.

terrano rims yes. Pathfinder rims are the same, but not chrome

fitting the 29s was one of the best mods i did. Wouldnt do it if you didnt have a big of grunt to push them though.

In soft sand she was a powerhouse, those tyres made A MASSIVE difference.
