Oh yes sorry 3 and 9 when the caliper is in the correct position. I was talking about relative to the caliper itself, when is pivoted up into the service position.
And yes, it's to line up for the position pins on the pads

Ahh, I see it now. But man I had a huge problem getting the pistons in, it seems they have rusted on the very edge and I had to take 'em out and use a very fine sandpaper on them in order to be able to slip them in completely. I started this thinking it was a piece of cake, but I ran into a problem after another and doing it out in the cold isn't fun :S. In comparison it's like working on your car inside the fridge with a fan :P

15°c would be the optimal, I wouldn't mind it staying constant that way all year :P.
I'm all done, however the loud noise only stopped on the driver side. There is still loud rattling/scratching noise on the passenger side. Almost like the axle is a little loose. Does that sound like the bearing is toast as well?

Most likely the big nut is still loose, try and do it up as hard as you can. I put all my weight on that nut and jumped on that wrench until the pin hole was aligned so it should be pretty tight :P. It seems the whole thing is moving a bit from inside.

A very big must, is to make sure the taper washer doesn't have a 'lip' on it, as this will stop you tightening it up as much as you need. If you still have play, then you may have worn bearings???

But I'll take anything over 23 to 30 degrees C

Back on the actual topic, make sure you check your stone guard isn't rubbing on the rotor.
Also make sure the bolts that hold the rotor to the hub are done up properly - I've had them come loose before... Not much fun!

I jacked it up and moved the wheel by hand and notice a bit of rattling noise coming from inside where the axle goes in. Also the wheel doesn't turn effortlessly even with no resistance from the brakes.

Do you guys know the specs of the bearings? I'm looking into getting Swedish SKF bearing, very good stuff

Not sure if SKF do the wheel bearing kit for your model. NTN & Temkin (both are good quality) do one for your model. Then kit number is 1162

I got the VKBA 1418 kit from SKF. Turns out SKF is the only brand I could get locally. They are not closed but I live in the city now so there's not much dust going on, just alot of salt. I hope there's nothing more broken, my wallet is taking quite a hit on this one :P

Cool. They need to be open so you can pack them with grease. The kit comes with dust seals, so you shouldn't get any crap inside them when fitted.
