Thrust bearing clips

Post by adamb » Wed Jan 16, 2008 1:17 pm

hi,
ive taken out the old engine and have found that there is only 1 clip holding the thrust bearing onto the clutch lever. Where would i find another clip as the new bearing didnt come with any.

cheers,

Probably available through Subaru...I've always just scrounged one from somebody else who might have spares. You can use handy-wire bent to the right shape but this isn't the best solution!
Chuck up a wanted add I'd say.

Adam I got stuck for one too once (country area on weekend)

Compare to a D shaped snap joiner at a fishing tackle shop and you will find one exactly the size and one gentle bend away from identical.

Stainless and tempered it lasted until I swapped gearboxes again.

1991 L Series wagon, white and perfectly normal apart from the ticking, no I think that is normal.

Jet boat..webbered EA81 with a hybrid tin dish welded and glued to it.

I would use the proper part for this... i had the same problem.

Just so you know... EA81 boxes have the exact same clips.
