Started off by draining the fuel and removing the fuel tank.
Then moved on to stripping out the remainder of the interior (some parts I will put back later).
The actual cuting the car in half part only took about 20 minutes.
After that I tipped the front half of the car up on it's side and removed the gearbox (not the most conventional method but alot easier!).
Back to the rear, it was starting to look more like a trailer. I set about getting the mechanicals sorted out. Removed the drive shafts (one was an absolute bastard - rusted onto the splines!), diff, tailshaft, muffler etc. After that I had to hunt around for the standard Subaru chassis bolts from way back when I first installed the lift kit. Found them and bolted all that back up to the body then whacked a couple of 14" wheels on.
Rest of the time was taken up with manoeuvring the front and rear of the car around the place etc.
It rolls around the place fairly well, I'm pretty satisfied with the weight distribution and balance although it will be slightly different once the A-frame is in place.
I'll have to start making up half a lift kit for it soon
