Brumby Gearbox
Brumby Gearbox
Hey Guys,
Advice needed please. My 85 4 speed brumby gear stick is getting harder to put into gear, especially reverse, it really needs to be pulled hard to the right and jammed into gear, keep finding fourth. The clucth is fine but there is a lot of slack in the gear shift. Is there a kit that can be put in ? if so costs? And how easy is it to do, or am i better off getting an expert to do it?
Cheers RubiSubi.

NOW DISTRIBUTING FOR SUBAXTREME BASH PLATES, NUDGE AND BULLBARS
Cheers Frog, great links on there. Went to subaru yesterday to buy the parts, the guys were very helpfull. 10 bucks for the bushes and 10 bucks for the boot if you need it. It took about 2 hours to do (half of which was cleaning the crap under there) and made an unbeleivable differrence. Box changes fantastic now and reverse just slides in. Well worth doing if you have slack in your gear shifts, totally different to drive. Once again thanks for the advice.

Was apparently a silly question. After keeping an EA82 on the road on a daily basis for over 800,000 klm, and knowing them so well, the Brumby is a slightly different beast, only slightly. Have found out how to do the gear change fix, just thought I'd throw it out there to you good folk,so as to make life easier, as I like knowledge passed on from one to the other.
