and after hearing about the weather down there.. I might stay just a little bit longer (sounds like a beer commercial)
Well really hope you can check out those other things but I'd start looking at fuel. Let me know how it goes.
Ok so it is never the wrong season for a revolving tropical storm and yes there was a comedy clip (I can't find it) about start you bastard.
you all ready to hear my weekend of fun (hope you have a cut lunch)
what a weekend I discovered that my computer no longer let me run spybot search and destroy and a few other little programs to do with malware and antivirus software as well when I tried to search for a cure I kept getting directed to a known malware program masquerading as a anti spyware program, so safe mode was employed and I deleted everything in the caches temp folders and the hidden temp files deep inside the vault (widows operating system) eventually i rebooted only to have
Perflib_Perfdata_2c0.dat and Perflib_Perfdata_660.dat left behind safe mode again and delete same story when windows was rebooted and spybot still not working
another search lead me to a program called combofix and with nothing to lose I ran it 10 minutes later I had my system back
3 files buried in the registry and 2 more in programs that had been hijacked
so today I decided to have one more crack at PJ in between rain showers and howling wind I checked and cleaned the distributor again

and then moved onto the timing belt
left side

right side look carefully now

and timing at TDC or so I thought

I put everything back together and shone a torch down the neck of the carby it really was a WTF moment as I had checked this the other day when PJ didn't start and there was nothing I pulled the carby off to clean this up

and pulled the plugs and what I thought was carbon turned out to be like a layer of red (nearly black) plastic on the surface I had a motor drowned in petrol I cleaned the excess petrol out with rags and while it rained again took time to brass brush the plugs clean and check the gaps were at 1.1mm
when the rain stopped I turned over the engine with no carby or plugs to clear anything left in Frank, then put everything back together and started PJ. she ran after a few seconds then stalled I nearly had a fit as I had left the accelerator cable off.
so I put the cable back in place and tried again just as the heavens opened up again (this time with a vengeance) PJ spluttered and coughed then ran and I made sure I held the throttle at about half until the big cloud of black steam disappeared then let PJ idle, then did and set the timing to 11 degrees +or - 2
so in the end it was fuel,(but nothing like I thought) distributor dirt (and timing) and fouled plugs (and not the timing belt:rolleyes: thankfully)
Im happy PH is happy my computer is happy now if i could just stop the kids from fighting over everything in the house
tired
